Design Statement:
Rodney Bauch designed this golf clubhouse early in his career. The design is carefully integrated into the site, taking advantage of a slight rise at the first tee. The exposed timber frame and cedar construction relates the clubhouse to other heavy timber buildings in this Alaskan golf course community. The design features seamless integration of exterior and interior detailing. The exterior fascia board repeats itself as a crown molding at the interior. A continuous skylight ensures the exposed timber frame and wood ceiling remain light and airy. The main floor consists of the pro shop and restaurant facility with the lower floor housing locker rooms and cart storage. The building is designed to allow for expansion at both ends of the L shape, ensuring flexibility for future growth.
